Currently Robyn is working on two polyamory related books.
Robyn began teaching and Facilitating Sacred Sex workshops in 1998. Her approach is a little different from other Sacred Sex teachers in that she seeks to move away from the polarization of what we commonly call the masculine and feminine energies and to integrate different types of energy within each person. She believes that genderization of emotions or energy such as compassion, aggression, empathy, caring, assertiveness and such into “masculine” and/or “feminine” qualities brings us out of harmony with our internal energy since “masculine” and/or “feminine” categories carry both negative and positive connotations. Her approach is seeking a balance of energies within each person so people can create a harmonious exchange with lovers on a deep and satisfying level. She works with singles, male female couples, same sex couples, and polyamorous triads, quads etc.
Studying and working with Sacred Sexuality for the past thirty years has given Robyn a deep understanding of Sacred Sexuality. This is lifetime passion that has given Robyn a zest for love and life, as well as a passion share her experience with individuals who want to take love, relationships and sexuality beyond the game playing to a dance of joy and experiencing the pulsing life of the universe.
Robyn is a mother of three great kids. She and her daughter Marina enjoy working together facilitating workshops on raising kids in polyamorous and sex positive families focusing on how to talk to kids about sex, love and relationships. Together they offer the perspective both as a parent and as a child raised in an alternative family.
Robyn’s career has brought her vast experience in working with people and in business. In her early career she started as the chief estimator for a large general contracting firm in Houston. At the age of 24 she partnered with her mother to open a wedding chapel and catering business, the Victorian Manor. The business focused on being a one stop shop in event and wedding planning. Under her management the business quickly became one of the top catering businesses in Houston averaging fifteen events each month. As wedding and event planner, Robyn developed an interest in portrait photography and pursued a photography business specializing in children’s, weddings and boudoir portraits. The business was highly successful and in five years Robyn photographed more than 500 weddings. In 1993 she and her husband moved their family to Colorado giving up the event and photography businesses due to health challenges of their son Michael.
After the birth of her third child Marina, Robyn began teaching Sacred Sex and Astrology classes and workshops through a local pagan bookstore. She worked at the store doing natal charts and astrological counseling and in 1997 opened New Visions Center bringing together healers, counselors, massage therapists and astrologers. New Visions Center hosted workshops in Kinesiology, Reiki, astrology and many different alternative healing and spiritual practices. In 1998 she began hosting polyamory support groups and teaching classes in polyamorous relating as well as Tantric Sacred Sexuality.
In the fall of 2004 Robyn put together a group of volunteers to help Loving More which was on the verge of going under. She invested her life savings to purchase Loving More in an attempt to keep alive an organization that had helped so many including her in understanding making polyamorous relationships work. This was a big change and meant leaving behind much of her work in astrological counseling and with New Visions Center. In 2006 Robyn realized that the polyamory community needed a national nonprofit organization to move polyamory awareness forward and so she turned Loving More Magazine into Loving More Nonprofit, a charity for polyamory awareness. In doing so she donated all the assets and most of the value of the business to Loving More.
Robyn has dedicated the past ten years to the polyamory movement. She is passionate about advocating for relationship choice and polyamory acceptance. Her goal is simple; open up people to the vast array of ways we can experience love, sex, passion and family so individuals can make a conscious choice of monogamy. polyamory, swinging or something in between for their loving partnerships and/or marriages.
Robyn believes polyamory and empowering men and women to embrace their personal sexual nature is one of the best ways to heal our world and move away from the violence and destructive dominator culture.
